While seemingly vulgar, having a Bag of Fucks is sometimes a critical mental health exercise. Giving a Fuck about something is actually a personal and sometimes intimate emotional investment - which is why we use the word "fuck" for this and not the slightly derivative "shit." For those who have a hard time knowing when to say "NO," having a material quantity of Fucks gives them an opportunity to pause and consider, "Do I really WANT to give a fuck about this situation?" Maybe yes, maybe no, but having a Fuck to hold and consider giving away allows us to actually think about our emotional investment instead of knee-jerk defaulting to "YES."

Now, you *could* have a Bag of Fucks that is empty, in which case you don't necessarily have a choice about not investing in something - you have no fucks to give, after all. But, there's something far more empowering by being able to say, "Why, yes, I do have four Fucks left today, but I choose not to give them to you." It's all good stuff.
